African-Caribbean Society (ACS)

About us

ACS aims to welcome any interested individuals who wish to become members of the society, irrespective of their background or creed. The society strives to promote unity and equality amongst the student population at UCLan. It seeks to create an awareness of the diverse cultures of the Afro Caribbean people, fun and above all, a sense of belonging.

People should join our society because we are a fun, diverse and educated group of being that are up for anything. We are not only diverse in terms of the members we have in our society but also in the activities that we put on for the people in our university. We welcome everyone from all walks of life to join our society.

The society will encourage educational values through several key methods. Finally the society will also be working alongside other SU clubs and societies both within UCLan and with other universities nationwide to organise future joint events.

Student Group By-Elections 2024

Every year our Student Groups elect a new team of students to take their group into the new academic year. Being on a committee is a great way to become more involved with the community at UCLan, meet new friends and develop new and existing skills for your CV. Anyone can be on a committee, as long as you are a member of your Student Group. Students that are elected onto a committee through this election will start their role on 1st August 2024 until 31st July 2025. Could you be the next leader of your Student Group? Please note this is the final opportunity to become a Student Group committee member for this academic year.
